As a facultative anaerobic bacteria, it can grow in both oxygen residual or not, can grow better at the aerobic condition, even can survive in the Nitrogen Dioxide condition, its metabolism can digest the monosaccharides, but can not digest and utilize lactose. As the typical Lactic Acid Bacteria, its metabolism can produce Lactic Acid, Acetic Acid etc, hence it can inhibit and defend the pathogenic’s infection. It can survive in gastro-acid/bile salt/enzyme digestion pressure condition, as well has a good colonization ability in the human gut-intestinal & urinary tract condition.
