Strains introduction
Bifidobacterium bifidum(B.bifidum), is in the Bifidobacterium family, it is a Gram-positive bacteria that is non-motile, anaerobic, and non-spore forming. The bacteria is rod shaped and can be found living in clusters, pairs, or even independently. The majority of the population of B.bifidum is found in the colon, lower small intestine, breast milk, and often in the vagina. The optimized growth temperature for B.bifidum is 36～38℃. The metabolic mechanism for B.bifidum is it can be heteromorphosis to ferment glucose, galactose, fructose etc to produce Lactic Acid, Acetic Acid, also to produce Enzymes, Vitamins etc. B.bifidum is the most popular Bifidobacterium probiotic bacteria used long time, it is found in both infants as well the adults, Bifidobacterium species is the most dominated bacteria in the infants’ gut- intestinal, hence Bifidobacterium species in some words named as the growth factors.
