Bifidobacteria have also been found to aid in antitumor activity  in the host by stimulating the host's immune response upon  injection into the tumorous region. Bifidobacterium. adolescentis synthesizes various B vitamins that are beneficial  to the nutritional health of the host organism. Vitamins that  are synthesized included thiamin(B1), pyridoxine(B6), folic  acid(B9), nicotine, cyanocobalamin(B12), ascorbic  acid(Vitamin C), biotin, and riboflavin . In regards to the host's immune system, Bifidobacteria have  been shown to stimulate the enlargement of lymph nodes in  the spleen and increase the number of lymph cells that are  involved with humoral immunity and T lymph cells that are  associated with cell-mediated immunity.
